Sugar Loaf
Be prepared to challenge yourself to hike Sugar Loaf which is approximately 750 meters high. It is located in a forested mountain in the Western area of Freetown (Regent). This hike is a short hike of approximately 4 hours, but do not mock this mountain as it contains a love and hate relationship among its undertakers. The climb is steep, layered with volcanic-formed rocks slopes but the view at the peak makes it worthwhile for it presents the beauty of the Western Area Forest Reserve.
As you climb this mountain, you might find yourself grabbing onto the branches leaning in around the shaded area and crawling on the ground to avoid slipping. After almost two (2) hours of hike, you will find yourself at the peak with just a turn away from looking at the beautiful view that had been awaiting since the start. After taking some pictures and having lunch, we end this tour by hiking back down with bitter-sweet memories that will last you a lifetime.
